Goh Beng Kwan

As a leading expressionist artist of his time, Goh Beng Kwan draws inspiration from nature. He sees the beauty of the sea, beaches, lakes and landscape not as flat surfaces but in their original three-dimensional form.

True to his tactile and sensitive nature, he appropriates the various mediums to express what he sees. Collage, as a mixed medium form of art, projects a good sense of feel and texture. Using fabric, rice paper, cloth, glass and various materials to appropriate the emotions, Beng Kwan spurns an intriguing myriad of colours and forms in his artwork. The result - a more accurate rendition of his perception of nature.

Beng Kwan's creations are collected by both government and corporate organisations like the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Maybank, Singapore Art Museum, SingTel and Conrad Hotel.    His commissioned artworks are also exhibited at the Ocean Tower, Singapore Turf Club, Promenade, International Plaza and  Punggol MRT Station.
